MOUNT AIRY — In the aftermath of Hurricane Florence, Mountain Valley Hospice & Palliative Care is collecting items to help Lower Cape Fear Hospice, a fellow non-profit in Wilmington.
Some of their staff have lost homes, and patients have been displaced. In addition, many of their medical supplies for patients have been destroyed in the flooding. Anything you can donate would be appreciated.
Some suggested items are listed below. Items can be brought to any Mountain Valley Hospice location by Thursday. Monetary donations are also welcome.
Items needed by Lower Cape Fear Hospice include non-perishable food, bottle water, adult diapers/depends, Ensure shakes, baby formula, trash bags, cleaning supplies, toiletries, paper products, laundry detergents, handheld can openers, electric fans, shop vacs, empty gas cans, blankets, towels/wash cloths, dehumidifiers, unopened, over-the-counter medications, first aid supplies, hand sanitizer, batteries, chainsaws and diabetic supplies.
