EDEN — Capped off by a thrilling walk-off come-from-behind win in the championship game, the Elkin-based NC Punishers 12U fastpitch team won the Top Gun tournament in Eden.

Competing against 20 other teams, the Punishers began bracket play as the number-one seed and finished the tournament undefeated. The Punishers won all four of their games, scoring 27 runs while only allowing seven runs.

Excellent pitching, timely hitting, and solid defensive play were all contributing factors in what was described as truly a team-winning performance.
