BOONVILLE — Starmount High School hosted a community doubles tennis tournament on May 5 in Boonville. The tournament was sponsored by men’s head tennis coach, Ryan Norman, and women’s head tennis coach, Wendy Harris. The tournament was held as a fundraiser for Starmount’s tennis programs.

Starmount alumni staff, alumni students, current staff, current students and others enjoyed a fun filled morning of tennis and reminiscing.

Seventeen teams were placed into four flights in order to make it to the final four. In the final four, Dillion Casstevens and Lucas Zamora defeated Ann Marie and Jay Wasson to move to the championship round. Miracle and Heaven Walters defeated Justin Vestal and Natalie Hauser to also move on to the championship round.

Starmount student alumnae, Heaven and Miracle Walters, competed against current Starmount tennis players, Dillion Casstevens (1st seed) and Lucas Zamora (3rd seed) for the championship.

After a hard fought match, Casstevens and Zamora won in a tie breaker.

Norman and Harris reported that after having such an awesome turn out and great feedback, they hope it can become an annual event.
