There will be a Fire Prevention Celebration at the Austin Ball Park on Oct. 13 from noon to 5 p.m. There will be bounce houses, food and drink, face painting, door prizes and games, antique fire trucks. This is sponsored by the Austin Fire & Rescue Department to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

The Traphill Fire Department will host the annual Trail of Treats on Oct. 31. This will take place around the track at the main station. They would like to extend an invitation to any churches or businesses who maybe interested in setting up a table at the event. This is for all the children come out for a trail of candy and fun.
The Traphill Fire Department will be hosting its first ever Christmas bazaar on Nov. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. They are looking for vendors for the event. Inside spots cost $25 and outside spots cost $15. One table will be provided and you may bring one table. Only one direct sales representative per company so the first to sign up gets the spot. The Traphill Fire Department will have a Christmas raffle to be drawn on Nov. 17. First prize is a basket of gift cards from local businesses ($300 value), second prize is a Ruger 10-22 or a $200 gift certificate to Elk Outdoors (winner’s choice) and third prize of a $100 gas card. You do not have to be present to win. See any fireman for tickets.
Congratulations to the Traphill Fire Department for receiving a FEMA SAFER grant that will fund training and having someone available at the fire department Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 for the next four years beginning in November. This will be at no cost to the taxpayers.
