Larry Norman will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Campers in the park are invited to come as they are.

New books available to check out at the Traphill Branch Library include “Twisted Prey” by John Sanford, “Warlight” by Michael Ondaatje, “Where Shadows Meet” by Colleen Coble, “”The Goolz Next Door: A Bad Night for Bullies” by Gary Ghislain, “Now That You Mention It” by Kristin Higgins, “Canine Confidential: Why Dogs Do What They Do” by Marc Befoff and “Debbie Macomber’s Table: Sharing the Joy of cooking with family and friends.”

Summer Reading Program is now underway at the Traphill Branch Library. This year’s theme is Libraries Rock and there are some great programs planned for the summer. On Thursday, there will be a LEGO Party at 11 a.m.

Traphill Baptist Church will have vacation Bible school on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the theme of “Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity.” Lunch and snacks will be provided. Pastor Mike Cardwell invites all ages to attend.

There will be chicken BBQ available at the Traphill Fire Department on July 28, beginning at 10:30 a.m. You have to get there early because it sells out quickly.

Get well wishes go to Barbara Wiles and Brenda Taylor, who have been sick recently.

Happy birthday wishes go to Dennis McGrady and Trenton Shephard on July 9; Mailon Nichols on July 10; Christie Cook on July 11; John Shaver on July 13; and Doris Lee on July 15.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Lisa and Mac Warren, who celebrate their seventh anniversary on July 9; and to Ernest and Darlene St. John, who celebrate their 51st anniversary on July 14.

Traphill had a low temperature of 61.1 degrees on July 8 and a high temperature of 87.4 degrees on July 3. There was .7 inch of rain during the week of July 2-8.
