Garden Creek Baptist Church will begin having services for the summer season every Sunday on May 6 with Adam Collins bringing the message that day. Service begins at 9 a.m. and campers in the park are invited to come as they are.

The Friends of Traphill Library will have a yard sale on Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Traphill Tan & Tone. Everyone interested in helping out our library is invited to check out some great bargains. Donations can be dropped off at the Tan & Tone (no clothes please).

New books available to check out at the library include “Shoot First” by Stuart Woods, “The Sixth Day” by Catherine Coulter, “Sometimes I Lie” by Alice Feeney, “Sweet Vengeance” by Fern Michaels, “Things I Never Told You” by Beth Vogt, “Twisted Prey” by John Sanford and “Where Shadows Meet” by Colleen Coble.

The Traphill Fire Department will have Bingo on May 18, beginning at 7 p.m. Food and drinks will be available and lots of great prizes.

Walsie Johnson Tharpe and her family would like to thank all the folks at Macedonia Baptist Church for the pounding they gave her when she moved back to Traphill.

Happy birthday wishes go to Lori Johnson Mathis and Lynn Hutson on May 1; Susanne Reavis, Lyvon Vestal and Rebecca Ayers on May 2; Clyde McGrady, Dustin Smith, Sherry Hudspeth and Margie Magan on May 4; Regina Smithey, Blake Benton and Karah and Hardin Kennedy IV on May 5; and Debbie Higgins on May 6.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Sonda and Chad Harris, who celebrate their seventh anniversary on May 1; and Terry and Lisa Cleary, who celebrate their 17th anniversary on May 1.

Traphill had a low temperature of 45.5 degrees on April 28 and a high temperature of 75.2 degrees on April 28. There were 4 inches of rain during the week of April 23-29.
