Stoney Ridge Baptist Church on North Lomax Road is having revival this week through April 19 at 7 p.m. Guest speaker is David Spicer, pastor of Austin Baptist Church. Pastor Ricky Johnson invites everyone to attend.

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have revival April 23-27 at 7 p.m. Jeremy Simpson from Thanks to Calvary Baptist Church will be the guest speaker. Pastor Danny Royal invites everyone.

Union Baptist Church will have revival April 22-25 with service on Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. and service the rest of the week at 7 p.m. Brian Poindexter of Faith Community Baptist Church will be preaching. On Sunday night, Crabgrass will be singing. Monday night, Claudia Byrd will be singing. Tuesday night, Jared Seal Family will be singing. Wednesday night, the church choir will sing. Pastor Steve Stoltzfus invites you to worship with them.

The Friends of Traphill Library will have a yard sale on May 5 beginning at 8 a.m. at the Traphill Tan & Tone. Everyone interested in helping out our library is invited to check out some great bargains. Donations can be dropped off at the Tan & Tone (no clothes please).

New books available to check out at the library include “Dead Girl Running” by Christina Dodd, “The Elizas” by Sara Shephard, “The Fallen” by David Baldacci, “Hold Back the Dark” by Kay Hooper, “I’ve Got My Eyes on You” by Mary Higgins, Clark and “Miss Julia Raises the Roof” by Ann Ross.

The Class of 1967 of North Wilkes High School will be having a reunion to commemorate 51 years since graduating on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Brushy Mountain Smokehouse. If you were a member of this class, pass the word on to any classmates you’ve kept in touch with. If you’re on Facebook, join our page at North Wilkes High School Class of 1967. Congratulations to Sarah Smith and Cody Brown on the birth of a daughter, Oaklyn Grace, born on April 11. Proud maternal grandparents are David and Amanda Smith, maternal great-grandparents are Randy and Delane Hayes and Bert and Judy Smith, and maternal great-great-grandmother is Martha Hayes. Paternal grandmother is Angie Mason and grandfather is Junior Brown. Paternal great-grandmother is Shirley Daves.

It’s good to hear that Walsie Johnson Tharpe has moved back to Traphill right behind the Traphill Grocery.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Tony and Maxine Johnson, who celebrate their 41st anniversary on April 16; Janice and George Holloway, who celebrate their 14th anniversary on April 16; Mitzi and Curtis Sparks, who celebrate their 28th anniversary on April 20; Casey and Carolann Hollingsworth, who celebrate their fifth anniversary on April 20; and Helen and Claude Smith, who celebrate their 62nd anniversary on April 21.

Traphill had a low temperature of 40.4 degrees on April 10 and a high temperature of 76.6 degrees on April 14. There was 1.9 inches of rain during the week of April 9-15. It’s time to put those hummingbird feeders out. Judy DuPree saw her first hummingbird on April 12.
