Faith Baptist Church on the Traphill Road will have revival this week through Wednesday. Monday through Wednesday service begins at 7:30 p.m. Bud Wishon will be the guest speaker with special singing each night. Pastor James Hall invites everyone.

The Friends of Traphill Library will have a meeting on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the library to plan a yard sale for April 28 at the Traphill Tan & Tone. Everyone interested in helping out our library is invited to attend. Donations can be dropped off at the Tan & Tone (no clothes please).

New books available to check out at the library include “The 17th Suspect” by James Patterson, “The Accidental Guardian” by Mary Connealy, “After Anna” by Lisa Scottoline, “The Amish Quilter” by Mindy Starns Clark, “Blind Betrayal” by Nancy Mehl, and “A Breath of Hope” by Lauraine Snelling.

The Class of 1967 of North Wilkes High School will be having a reunion to commemorate 51 years since graduating on April 21 at 4 p.m. at the Brushy Mountain Smokehouse. If you were a member of this class, pass the word on to any classmates you’ve kept in touch with. If you’re on Facebook, join our page at North Wilkes High School Class of 1967. Crabgrass will be playing at the Mountain View Fire Department Anniversary Celebration on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Congratulations to Mickey Pruitt on the birth of a new granddaughter, Lily Marie Frazier, born on April 6 to Chris and Ayla Frazier. Proud great-grandmothers are Linda Nixon and Wanda Pruitt.

Dillon Davis and Callie Wagoner received lots of great gifts at their baby shower last Sunday. They are expecting a baby girl in the next couple of weeks.

Happy birthday wishes go to Delane Hayes and Kathleen Linda Gallen on April 9; Mona Faye Hicks on April 10; Hank Kennedy on April 11; Ruby Lee Johnson, Junior Caudill and Max Wagoner on April 12; Grady Wood on April 13; Hannah Bryant and Michael Roberson on April 14; and DeLayne Jolly on April 15.

Happy anniversary wishes go to Opal and Dennis McDaniel, who celebrate their 44th anniversary on April 12; and Charles and Barbara Johnson, who celebrate their anniversary on April 15.

Traphill had a low temperature of 32.9 degrees on April 8 and a high temperature of 71.2 degrees on April 2. There was .6 inch of rain during the week of April 2-8, and I heard there was some snowflakes, but I didn’t see them.
