The Traphill Fire Department will have a hot dog supper on Saturday at 5:30 p.m., followed by Bingo. They have some great prizes for those folks who love to play Bingo.

Crabgrass will be singing at Austin Baptist Church on Sunday at 7 p.m. for the first night of their revival.

The Austin Ballpark will be signing up players soon. Morning sign-ups will be on March 24 and March 31 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Night sign-ups will be March 20 and March 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. They are also looking for volunteers for the summer. The Austin Fire Department is sponsoring an Easter Egg Hunt on March 31. There will be food and drinks at noon and the egg hunt will begin at 1:30 p.m. for four different age groups. There will be a prize basket drawing for each age group and a raffle for a Giant Easter Basket. Don’t forget to bring a basket to put your eggs in.

Welcome Home Missionary Baptist Church will have an Easter sunrise service on April 1 at 7 a.m., followed by breakfast in the fellowship hall. Sunday School will be at 9 a.m. and worship service at 10 a.m.

Traphill Baptist Church Helping Hands Ministry is having a food drive on April 7 from 9 a.m. to noon for the food bank ministry. All food donations will be greatly appreciated. Please drop any food donations at the White House where the food give away is held each month. Someone will help with unloading any food you bring. If you need someone to pick up your food, please let Pastor Mike know. His number is 336-984-1898. The ministry has a food giveaway the third Saturday morning each month.

Arlo and Doris Holbrook Anderson are here for the next week for their spring visit. You can find them in their camper parked at Stone Mountain Realty.

Traphill Branch Library has several new books ready to check out including “The Christmas Room” by Catherine Anderson, “What the Bishop Saw,” ”When the Bishop Need an Alibi” and “ Who the Bishop Knows” by Vanetta Chapman.

The Class of 1967 of North Wilkes High School will be having a reunion to commemorate 51 years since graduating on April 21 at 4 p.m. at the Brushy Mountain Smokehouse. If you were a member of this class, pass the word on to any classmates you’ve kept in touch with. If you’re on Facebook, join our page at North Wilkes High School Class of 1967. Happy anniversary wishes go to Jamey and Shelia Cranford, who celebrate their 25th anniversary on March 19; and to Charlie and Lucille Gambill, who celebrate their 62nd anniversary on March 24.

Traphill had a low temperature of 29.8 degrees on March 14 and a high temperature of 68.1 degrees on March 17. There was 3 inches of snow and 1 inch of rain during the week of March 11-18.
