Adam Collins will be preaching at Garden Creek Baptist Church Sunday at 9 a.m. The Mountain Flats Bluegrass group will be singing. Beginning in November, service will be held only the first Sunday of the month until next May, weather permitting.

There will be a benefit for the family of Steven and Annie Draughn with dinner and singing at Beulah Land Baptist Church in Roaring River on Nov. 11, beginning at 2 p.m. All three family members have been in the hospital and they have no insurance and need help with medical expenses.

New books available to check out at Traphill Branch Library include “Dangerous Illusions” by Irene Hannon, “Deep Freeze” by John Sandford, “Echo of Danger” by Marta Perry, “Fairytale” by Danielle Steel and “Holly and Ivy” by Fern Michaels.

There will be a Friends of Traphill Library meeting on Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. at Traphill Tan and Tone. Officers for the next year will be elected.

Congratulations to Dustin Ray Billings and Ashley Nicole Lawrence, who were married on Oct. 28.

Congratulations to Jamey Cranford and Eden Holloway, who were married on Oct. 29.

Congratulations to Charlotte and Richard Horton, who had a baby boy, Lincoln, on Oct. 26.

Traphill had a low temperature of 38.61 degrees on Oct. 26 and a high temperature of 68.5 degrees on Oct. 27. There was 3.6 inches of rain during the week of Oct. 23-29. A lot of folks were without power from a few hours to three days after the bad storm that hit on Oct. 23.
