Dobson Elementary School received a very special gift recently. Fifth-grade student, Angel Avila, served on the Flag Guard this year. The Flag Guard helps to raise and lower the flag at Dobson each day. While on the Flag Guard, Angel noticed that the flags were getting worn and faded. After talking to his parents, he decided to do something about this problem. He got the measurements of the flags the school uses so he could order a new American flag and North Carolina flag with his own money to donate to Dobson Elementary. School officials expressed their thanks to Angel Avila for his kind donation. - Submitted photo
