DOBSON — Surry County Planning and Development in partnership with the Piedmont Triad Regional Council is holding a series of public meetings in October to review land development issues and recommendations for updates to the Surry County Land Use Plan. The plan will provide a vision for growth and conservation looking out 10-20 years into the future.
The existing plan Land Use Plan 2020 was last updated in 2012. A series of land use, growth and conservation maps will be provided for review at the meetings. In addition, the results of a community survey also will be available for review. Residents in the county are asked to consider attending to learn more and provide feedback.
All meetings will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the following dates and locations, stay tuned to www.ptrc.org/surryldp for project updates and any schedule changes. Residents also can email staff comments or questions to Jesse Day, Piedmont Triad Regional Council email@example.com.
Meetings will be:
• Oct. 9 at Westfield Baptist Church, 6713 Westfield Road, Westfield
• Oct. 16 at Mountain Park Baptist Church, 419 Mountain Park Road, State Road
• Oct. 25 at Horne Creek Farm, 308 Horne Creek Farm Road, Pinnacle
• Oct. 30 at Surry Government Center, Room 335, 118 Hamby Road, Dobson
The public is encouraged and invited to attend. Input is valuable to this process and will help shape land development policy years into the future.
