The Yadkin Valley United Fund has made its agency partner allocations for 2019. Don Clark, president, said the total amount of grants for 24 nonprofits in the Yadkin Valley will be the largest ever. The 2019 campaign goal will be $202,019, also the largest ever.

Two new board members, Matthew Schrum and Tom Flippin, will be joining the other board members during the June 1 to May 31 operating year. A complete list of officers and directors can be found on the website.
The 2019 campaign will kick off with a Downtown Block Party at the Reeves Theater on Aug. 18.
“Dine Out Thursday” with three restaurants each week will follow beginning Aug. 30 and each Thursday thereafter through Oct. 18.
The “Wine Out” at local wineries will be held on a Saturday in October, date to be announced later.
The G&B Energy Golf outing for the YVUF is set for Sept. 6 at Cedarbrook Country Club.
The final total pledge amount for 2018 was $201,897. The number of businesses donating was 110, the number of individuals was 775, both increases over 2018 by about 10 percent. There were nine businesses who allow payroll deduction.
The YVUF serves the communities of Elkin, Jonesville, Mountain Park, Ronda, State Road, Thurmond and Traphill. Businesses and individuals who donate $500 or more will be invited to the recognition and celebration event at Cedarbrook Country Club, April 13, 2019.
