WENTWORTH — The third annual Piedmont Legacy Trails Summit will be held on April 13 in Wentworth. This event will bring together trail advocates, stakeholders and leaders to share best practices, build relationships and influence trail and greenway development across the region.
Piedmont Legacy Trails is a project of the Piedmont Land Conservancy and Piedmont Triad Regional Council to raise the profile of trails and greenways and to create trail connectivity across its 12-county region. To learn more about these efforts and register for the summit, visit www.piedmonttrails.org/2018-summit.
Summit topics include engaging landowners, water trails, funding for trails, and a presentation on how to plan trail projects. A keynote talk will be given at lunch by Bill Blackley of the Elkin Valley Trails Association. An optional hike will follow the summit, led by the Duke Energy TRAILS Director Tim Johnson. This summit is the perfect opportunity to launch the brand and raise the profile of local trails.
“Trails and Greenways make the fabric that bring our communities together in a healthy and sustainable way,” said David Craft, a trail builder and member of the Piedmont Legacy Trails Steering Committee. Trails are valuable community assets and Piedmont Legacy Trails will continue to expand and encourage trail opportunities across the region.
