Citizens of the Yadkin Valley are invited to join together at the Elkin Peace Pole at 6 p.m. Monday for a Candlelight Vigil.
According to organizer Jane Motsinger, the purpose of the vigil is, “to stand in pain, sorrow, and solidarity with the victims of gun violence everywhere and their families, friends and neighbors.”
“We are all one,” said Motsinger of the Galloway Memorial Episcopal Church. “When one suffers, we all suffer.”
Located between the church and the bridge near the library, the Elkin Peace Pole is a gathering place of mutual community support in times of crisis.
