The Yadkin Valley Community School will be hosting a Haunted School Yard on Halloween night from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is open to the public, and there is no cost to enter the school yard. However, the school is accepting donations.
The school will be collecting canned goods and nonperishable items for Tri-C. Any cash donations will benefit the school which is a nonprofit. Cash donations made to the school will be used to purchase curriculum materials for the outdoor classroom.
“We invite everyone who is downtown on Halloween night enjoying the other festivities to come on down to the school for a good, old-fashioned scare,” said Kimberly Seipel-Parks, board president. “The kids and parents have really gotten excited about this event. They’ve been collecting and making all kinds of cool, scary things. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
The Yadkin Valley Community School is a small independent school located in downtown Elkin at 240 Standard St.
