Mr. Harry Kent Suddreth, Sr., age 69 of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, March, 16 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Mr. Suddreth was born November 20, 1943 in Caldwell County to Tom and Irene Bryant Suddreth. He was retired from Asplundh Tree Company with 51 years of service. Mr. Suddreth attended Ronda First Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and a life-long member of the Clingman Bass Masters.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Truman Suddreth and Erby Joe Suddreth and sisters, Nona Kelly and Sheila Thorneburg.
Survivors include: his life-long friend and mother of his children, Lois Suddreth of Jonesville; sons, Harry Kent Suddreth, Jr. and his wife Teresa of Jonesville and Barry Dean Suddreth and his wife Julie of Sherrils Ford; daughters, Teresa S. Tharpe and her friend Will Lancaster of State Road, Susan S. Baker and her husband Brian of Jonesville, and Beth S. Pence and her husband Matthew of State Road; brothers, Tommy Suddreth and his wife Rosalie of Lenoir, Jim Suddreth of Newton, Bob Suddreth and his wife Annette of Lenoir, and Johnny Suddreth and his wife Madge of Lenoir; sisters, Eula Parsons of Lenoir, Betty Suddreth of Hudson, Bertha Griffin of Lenoir, and Lida Martinat and husband Silvio of Lenoir; special friends, Charles Trice and his wife Louise of Newland and Tony Chambers and his wife Mary of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Lindsay Tharpe, Nathan Tharpe who is serving in Afghanistan, Kaity Tharpe who is serving in San Antonio TX, Devan Holland, Zach Holland, Colt Suddreth, Claire Suddreth, Rylea Suddreth, Micah Baker, Caeson Baker, Presley Baker, Evan Baker, Avery Pence, and Blake Pence.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Ronda First Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie McMillan, Rev. Rex Walker, Rev. Allen Barker and Mr. Tommy Nixon officiating. Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 -8:00 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service.
