John Donie “Junior” Luffman Jr., age 85 of Ronda passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Luffman was born in Wilkes County on March 5, 1927 to the late John and Della Settle Luffman. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Luffman and all of his brother and sisters.
Mr. Luffman is survived by his loving children, Jerry Luffman, Judy Nance & husband James, Keith Luffman & wife Sue, Melissa Cheek & husband Ricky, Della Luffman, Crystal Luffman; grandchildren, Michael Nance, Amy Baker, Rick Nance, Lisa Cobler, Drew Cheek, Cindy Murphy, Susan Luffman, Ella Luffman, Keenan Luffman, Marilyn Oakes; great-grandchildren, Tiffany Nance, Brittany Nance, Jonathan Baker, James Robert Nance, Corbin Key, Tiffany Cobler, Courtney Cobler, Miranda Cobler, Brandon Bond; great great-grandson, Jason Baker, special niece, Eva Baker; several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Benham Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Reeves and Rev. Julius Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors presented by Yadkin VFW post 10346. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin from 6:00-8:00p.m.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and the Joan & Howard Woltz Hospice Home for the wonderful love and care that was given to Mr. Luffman.
