Cedarbrook Country Club will once again be the site of the annual Hugh Chatham Memorial Foundation annual golf classic on Thursday, Aug. 19.

The annual golf classic is one of the primary fundraisers for the Hugh Chatham Foundation, raising between $40-$50,000 per year.

Golf enthusiasts from across the area come to Elkin to participate in the favored tournament at the popular course.

Food is provided by the hospital. Snacks, water and goodie bags are provided for the players throughout the day.

The money raised through the tournament goes directly to the foundation," Jeanette Hendrick, HCMH foundation director said. "Hugh Chatham Memorial is a non-profit hospital that strives to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to all residents of the area.

"Every year, the golf tournament has been a great success both in fundraising and enjoyment for golf enthusiasts,"she said. "Many of the doctors and medical personnel participate in the tournament as well as players throughout the surrounding areas. Our local businesses help through donations of supplies, gifts and volunteerism. We, at the foundation, appreciate the community's support of the Hugh Chatham Foundation and our goal to the community with the best services we can provide."

Sponsorship levels include the Friends of the Foundation, $2,500; The Masters, $1,000; Titanium, $500; Metal, $250, and Persimmon, $100. The Ryder Cup is reserved for a $10,000 donation that includes being a tournament co-sponsor, a full-page recognition in the program guide, two teams of four players, a starting time preference, a sponsor recognition billboard, an engraved cup presentation and a case of Yadkin Valley wine.

Reservations are made on a first come basis and require a completed team entry form that can be obtained by calling Jeff Seaford, 336-527-7662.

The hospital has in excess of 35 teams committed for this year’s golf tournament.
