Matthew and Ann Mayberry, owners of Brushy Mountain Winery in downtown Elkin, show off another gold medal for their award-winning Red Bud Ridge wine. The wine won a gold medal at the Budbreak Wine & Food Festival in Mount Airy on Saturday. The competition was between wines submitted by 26 wineries throughout North Carolina. Red Bud Ridge is a premium blend from 2007. It has won awards in several competitions in several states. Best of show was won by Shelton Winery of Dobson for their Reisling.
