The funds from the jewelry sale sponsor the Volunteer/Auxiliary programs.
The programs sponsored include the books for babies and the bears for pediatric patients.
The funds are also used to purchase yarn which is given to volunteers who knit or crochet chemotherapy caps, newborn baby caps and prayer shawls.
The volunteer/auxiliary program at HCMH has sponsored many programs through the hospital. The auxiliary is currently paying on a pledge made to the HCMH mammography center.
Volunteers at HCMH help with many aspects of a patients care at the hospital. The hospital’s gift shop is known in the area for the lovely and unique gifts it carries and is operated completely by volunteers.
Anyone wishing to become a volunteer at Hugh Chatham Memorial should call Patricia Wagoner, volunteer director at 336-527-7000.
