Starmount won every weight class except at 171 pounds en route to a 75-6 wrestling triumph over Elkin on Tuesday night.

The Rams earned six pins and picked up six forfeit victories.

Austin Sloan of Starmount became the first wrestler this season to beat Elkin senior Aaron Rabin. Sloan collected a 6-1 decision in a battle of two returning state qualifiers.

Clay Renegar pinned his Elkin foe at 189 pounds in seven seconds. Wayne McCracken of Starmount earned a pin in just 31 ticks in the heavyweight division.

Others to win by pin for Starmount included Ethan Mathis (125 pounds), Dylan Floyd (140), Steven Hemric (152) and Brandon Oliver (215). Austin Macemore (103), Cody Leonard (112), Daniel Ouiterio (119), Channon Adams (130), Nick O’Donnell (135) and Nathan King (145) were winners by forfeit for the Rams.

Mason Timmerman accounted for all of Elkin’s points, winning his match by pin in the second period at 171 pounds.

Elkin also wrestled Alleghany on Tuesday night, losing that bout 54-15. Cody Haubrich (145 pounds) and Timmerman (171) won by forfeit. Rabin outdueled Luke Hampton 7-2 at 160 pounds. Rabin’s record is now 12-1, tops on the team.

Starmount also wrestled Alleghany in the tri-match but no results from that dual were reported.

Friday night wrestling

NORTH WILKES 48, ELKIN 22: The Buckin’ Elks got wins in four weight class. Rabin won for the 11th time this season, pinning North’s Dalton Anderson in 3:20 at 160 pounds.

Sean Reams won by pin at 215 pounds, topping Austin Holloway in 3:12. Cody Haubrich earned a major decision at 152, beating Barry Wiles 17-4.

Will O’Dell was a forfeit winner for Elkin at heavyweight.

Luis Bonilla, John Richardson, Chad Billings, Aaron Walker, Zack Eller, Bryan Baity, Joshua Hutchens and Justin Collins won matches for North Wilkes. Walker, Baity, Hutchens and Collins each pinned their foes.

EAST WILKES 51, FORBUSH 29: The Cardinals captured their first conference victory, dominating the light- and middleweight divisions.

Josh Smith (119 pounds), Dustin Pruitt (125), Jake Shore (130), Joseph Prevette (145), Pierce Knighten (152) and Zach Faircloth (160) all pinned their Forbush foes. All but Joseph Prevette put foes on their backs in the first period.

Cody Mathis earned a tech-fall win (15-0) at 135 pounds for the Cardinals, while Zach Prevette earned an 11-1 major decision victory at 112.

East Wilkes won comfortably despite forfeiting five weight classes. Forbush forfeited one. Zach Prevette entered Tuesday night’s match against North Wilkes with a 26-1 record. Pruitt was 23-4.
