According to Capt. Jeff Poteate of the Elkin Police Department, the investigation is still ongoing and "the case has to be continued so evidence from the state crime lab can be received."
Cosby was charged with with one count of taking indecent liberties with a minor on Dec. 5 and on Nov. 19 and charged with statutory sex offense with a 14-year-old and solicitation of a child by computer to commit a sex act, both felonies. The State Bureau of Investigation and the Elkin Police Department have been working together in this case. Cosby has been arrested twice, posted bond once, and signed a written promise to appear the second time. Another court date is set for February, but a court official who wished to remain anonymous said, "only his lawyer will probably show up for another continuance."
The source also said that people interested in this case shouldn't be surprised if a year down the road a plea arrangement is made with the district attorney's office, representing the victims, and Cosby. The source said most cases like this are shuffled around and then a plea is done and often the offender doesn't even get any time, only intensive probation for about a year and then regular probation for five years.
