She was born in Galax, Va. to the late Ruben and Rosie Ollie Fortner Sizemore.
She was retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company and was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband, T.C. Lear, daughter, Frances Louise Nixon and stepdaughter, Rhonda Nixon.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Nixon of the home; three children, Mahala Gentry and Alfred of State Road, Sarah Kate Dow and husband, Jon, of Hamptonville and Rosa Poplin and husband, James, of State Road; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jamie Smith.
Her funeral service will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church by the Rev. Larry Macemore.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
