STATE ROAD- Eva Sue Lane Easter, 45, of State Road, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009 at her home.

She was born May 6, 1964 in Alleghany County to Massey and Dorothy Bobbit Lane.

Mrs. Easter was an employee at Village Barbecue in Elkin.

Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Gray Easter of the home; her mother, Dorothy Byrd of Galax, Va.; two sons, Benjamin Scott Collins and wife, Marie, of Thurmond, and Danny Ralph Collins Jr. of Thurmond; a step son, Stetson Easter of Boonville; three brothers, Ronnie Lane and wife, Judy, of Cleveland, N.C., James Lane and wife, Becky, of Rural Retreat, Va., and Richard Lane and wife, Wendy, of Stewart, Va.; four sisters, Mary Luffman and husband, Junior, of Thurmond, Sherry Perry and husband, Gerald, of Sparta, Eva Ann Chappell and husband, Bruce, of Ennice, and Kathy Bare and husband, Robert, of Sparta; and four grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted today, Nov. 20, at 2 p.m. at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Russ Nixon officiating.

Burial will follow in Crestwood Memorial Gardens.

The family received friends on Thursday, Nov. 19, at Elkin Funeral Service.
