He was born March 11, 1939 in Wilkes County to Henry and Iva Pruitt Anderson, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by a daughter, Debera Kay Anderson; a son, Donnie Ray Anderson; and a granddaughter, Miranda Richardson.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Byrd Anderson of Elkin; his mother, Iva Pruitt Anderson of Ronda; and his son, Billy Junior Anderson and wife, Tammy, of Traphill; his daughter, Deanna Swisher and husband, Harold, of Elkin; two brothers, Benny Anderson and wife, Gail, of Mt. Airy and Ronnie Anderson of Traphill; three sisters, Irene Harpe of Elkin, Lorene Wood of Ronda, and Ella Mae McKnight of Yadkinville; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be conducted Saturday, Oct. 31, at Elkin Funeral Service Chapel with Chaise Swisher officiating.
