Week 15 in the Friendship Motor Speedway racing season featured a special visit from the FASTRAK Crate Late Model Touring Series.

Royce Bray made himself at home on Elkin’s 4/10 mile oval Friday night, leading for the entire 40-lap main event and collecting $2,000 after rolling into the Neighbors Stores/100.9 WIFM victory lane.

Donald Bradsher finished second, followed by Lee Cooper, Brian Conner and Kenny Peoples Jr.

Four of Friendship’s regular divisions also raced this weekend.

“Flyin’” Bryan Nance claimed his third victory in a row in the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman division. Nance didn’t score in six of the first eight races of the season but has since been either first or second.

Richard Clew locked up second place behind Nance, followed by Daniel Moss, points leader Jeff Parsons and Shawn Robinson.

Back in black was the theme of the night in the Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders. Tommy Zachary claimed his second-straight victory in his black machine (his fourth of the season). Evan Benton placed second, followed by points leader Billy Robinson, Toby Jones and Junior Welborn.

The JC Racing and Fabrication Renegade V-8 division featured a three-way battle between points leader Jeff Parsons, Jason Donahue and Derek Mastin.

Mastin lead the way early, but Parsons overtook him after Mastin had mechanical trouble.

Parsons and Donahue ran 1-2 before Donahue spun with three laps to go. But Donahue was not done and rallied back to take the win, his first of the season. Parsons finished second, with Mastin taking third.

Matthew Nance has been a force during the latter part of the season in the Hill Top Trading Post Donald’s Auto U-Cars division. He didn’t score in the first 11 races but has since followed with two second-place finishes and, on Friday night, his first victory.

Nance outdueled Travis Turner for the spot in victory lane, with Turner leading much of the way early. Points leader Stephanie Clew placed third to keep some distance between herself and her nearest challengers, Brett Myers and Sean Myers.

Richard Clew was fourth, with Britton Settle claimed fifth.

The GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Models return to Friendship this Saturday night for week 16 of the season. The Limited Sportsman, Four Cylinders, V-8s and U-Cars also will be back at it.

The Friendship season will feature five races for all five divisions in August, followed by four weekends of racing in September.
