Mr. Patterson was born in Yadkin County on July 2, 1916 to the late John Joshua and Margaret Elizabeth Hutchens Patterson.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was employed for 41 years by Chatham Manufacturing Company.
He was preceded in death by his four brothers two sisters.
Surviving are his wife Dorothy Mann Patterson of the home, and his children and their spouses, Terry and Julia Patterson of Hays, Paula and Charles Jones of Charlotte, Franklin and Donna Patterson of Yadkinville.
His grandchildren, Jessica and Emily Patterson, Luke Patterson, Daniel Patterson and Rebecca Jones. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., June 26, 2009 at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, by Pastor Jerry Fugate.
Burial will follow at Arlington First Baptist Church Cemetery in Jonesville.
The Patterson Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Valley Hospice, Yadkin Division, P.O. Box 1267, Yadkinville N.C. 27055.
