He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Surry County to the late Herman and Lorine Tise Jenkins.
He loved music, enjoyed playing several different instruments, and was an avid fiddle player.
Surviving are his wife, Hazel Spear Jenkins; sons, Ronnie Dale Jenkins, and Roger Dean Jenkins; sister, Audrey Ann Joiner; brother, Billy Gray Jenkins; very special friends, Phyllis Pyles, Kirk Sutphin, Tom Mylet, Hobert Whitt, and Lillian Cockerham; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 at Peoples Community Fellowship by the Rev. Tommy Fuqua.
Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5 at Peoples Community Fellowship.
