On January 31, 2013 the Yadkin Valley Sewer Authority experienced a sewer overflow of approximately 4,000 gallons near the Regional Pump Station on Hwy 268E, due to unusually heavy rains in the area.
The untreated wastewater reached The Yadkin River of The Yadkin River Basin. The spill was reported to NCDENR, Division of Water Quality.
