John Walter “J.W.” Pardue, age 85 of Roaring River passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at his home. Mr. Pardue was born in Wilkes County on February 17, 1927 to the late Luther and Ilo Mastin Pardue. Mr. Pardue was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Girline Pardue; a son, Bobby Pardue; a daughter, Vonda Hall; brothers, George Pardue, Arlie Pardue, Clark Pardue, and Jake Pardue.

Mr. Pardue is survived by his loving children, Harold Pardue and wife Diane of Hays, Mary Dillard and husband Rev. Danny Dillard of Hays, Johnny Pardue and wife Janet of Roaring River, Rev. Willie Pardue of Roaring River, Tammy Baldwin and husband Roy of Elkin, Michael “Joe” Adams and wife Vicky of Hays; brothers, June Pardue and wife Imogene of Wilkesboro, R.C. Pardue and wife Mary Ann of Greensboro, Ernest Pardue and wife Brenda of Ronda; sister, Ruth Church of Wilkesboro; brother-in-law, Somers Johnson and wife Lillian of Jonesville; grandchildren, Jonathan Pardue, Jamie Dillard, Sammy Dillard, Scotty Dillard, April Prevette, Josh Pardue, Gary Baldwin, Grant Adams, Austin Adams, Lisa Shore, Mandy Harrold; twenty great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00p.m., Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church wife Dr. Hubert Wishon and Rev. Ken Pardue officiating. Mr. Pardue will lie in state from 1:30-2:00p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
