Johnny Walter Gilliam, 73, passed away December 7, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Gilliam was born June 30, 1939 in Yadkin County to the late Raymond Egbert & Selma Gaton Gilliam. He was a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a granddaughter Emmalyn Gilliam. Surviving are his wife Laura Triplett Gilliam; three sons Brian Gilliam, Kelly (Becca) Gilliam; Chris Gilliam; grandchildren Laura Ellen Gilliam, Jonathan Gilliam, Clarisse Gilliam, Bryce Johnny Gilliam. Three sisters Columbia Groce, Margaret Simmons, Nancy Brown; two brothers Dizzy Gilliam and Barry Gilliam. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday December 11, 2012 at Gentry Family Funeral service in Jonesville. His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday December 12, 2012 at Fall Creek Baptist Church by Rev. Don Hudson and Rev. Kelly Gilliam. Burial will follow at Sunrise Cemetery.
