On November 28, 2012 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family, Scottie Edward Bernard Hagler walked peacefully into the arms of his loving Savior. Scott was born January 31, 1975 to Vanessa Hagler Gomillion and Edward W. Bryant. He was a graduate of Starmount High School and earned his A.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from Wilkes Community College. Scott attended Mt. Nebo Unity Holy Church of God, Inc in Jonesville N.C. He was employed by IBM of Charlotte for many years and was employed by PET Dairy until his health declined.


Scott was a very loving and compassionate person, who spent many hours talking to and helping his younger family members. He encouraged his younger cousins, nieces and nephews to get a higher education and to pursue their dreams. Scott could always be found with a large smile on his face. He was full of life and could always be found laughing. Scott was Duke’s #1 fan.


Scott was preceded in death by 1 son Serenity Hagler, his beloved maternal grandparents Bishop Rossalee and Eva Hagler, his paternal grandparents Bishop Ed and Mary Bryant, step-grandparents Thomas and Mary Benbow.


Scott leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Allison P. Hagler of the home, 2 daughters Deja Nicole Phillips of the home and Zana Cherron Ferguson of Moravian Falls, N.C., his loving mother Vanessa (Ambrose) Gomillion of Elkin, N.C., father Eddie Bryant of Mt. Airy, N.C., 2 sisters Sabrina (Don) Long of Winston-Salem, N.C., Mickey (Allan) King of Jonesville N.C., 1 brother T.J. King of Taylorsville, N.C.,2 step sisters Kristian K. Gomillion and Kim L. Gomillion of Washington D.C., mother-in law Cheryl (Darryl) Cope of Winston-Salem, N.C. and a brother-in law Steven (Pam) Phillips of Yadkinville, N.C., six very special nieces and nephews (Keaston, Aurora, Paris, Micah, Zachary and Miss. Eva), 13 step nieces and nephews, many loving aunts and a host of very special cousins and friends.


The family will be receiving friends at the home of Scott’s mother: 177 Harris Avenue, Elkin N.C. and at his residence 117 Willow Street, Yadkinville, N.C. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Spencer Funeral Home of Mt. Airy, N.C. and are incomplete.
