Mrs. Charity Lorene Underwood, age 83, of Ronda passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.

She was born November 8, 1929 in Laurel Springs, North Carolina to the late Carl Edwards and Laura Joines Edwards.

Mrs. Underwood was a retired nurses aid and member of Whitehead Union Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her husband George Daniel Underwood, Sr. three brothers Kermit Edwards, Claude Edwards, and Carl B. Edwards, and two sisters Stella Mae Taylor and Loueva Blackburn.

Mrs. Underwood is survived by two sons George Daniel Underwood, Jr. (Sylvia) of Advance, Timmy Underwood (Lynn) of Booneville, daughter Teresa Wilmoth of Ronda, brother Dan Edwards (Doris) of Sparta, five grandchildren Brian Wilmoth, Jessica Underwood, Victoria Ellis, Angel Underwood, Daniel Underwood, and great grandchild River Underwood.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Huff Funeral Home. Funeral services for Charity Underwood will be conducted on Friday November 30th, 2012 at 1pm at Huff Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Whitehead Union Baptist Church in Sparta.
