Alleghany Arts and Crafts holds open house

On Dec. 7, the Alleghany Arts and Crafts Gallery will celebrate its 10th anniversary by holding an open house from 4-8 p.m. at their Gallery at 36 N. Main St., Sparta.
Two recent new member artists’ works will be featured–Will Fernandez for his beautiful sculptures and Rob Mangum Pottery for their fine pottery. Come by the Gallery, meet Will and Rob. You’ll be glad you did when you see their fantastic works of art.
The Gallery’s regular hours of business are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Gallery is a cooperative of 37 vendors representing jewelry designers, colored pencil artist, photographers, leather artist, wood workers, fine furniture items, hand carved wooden items, baskets, pottery makers, painters including oil, watercolors, acrylics, one-stroke painting technique, hand painted Christmas ornaments, prints from copper plates made by the artist, designer dolls, quilts featuring baby quilts, bed quilts, wall hangings, baby books, placemats, table runners, napkins, grocery bag holders, baking potato bags, aprons, totes, crocheted scarfs, hats, and apparel items, copper wire art, stained glass and fused glass arts, designer purses and pillows. In addition to arts and crafts, the Gallery also features a wide variety of homemade jams and jellies made from home-grown fruits.
Additional items for the Open House will feature homemade “Old Fashion Fruitcakes”, Coconut Cakes, Fresh Apple Cakes, Carrot Cakes, Red Velvet Cakes, Pumpkin Cakes and other cakes as requested.
