BOONVILLE - The Lady Rams rolled past Wheatmore in the second round of the 2A state playoffs Tuesday night.

Starmount breezed to 25-13 wins in the first two games before cruising late in the final set to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Ashton Gregory powered the Rams with a double-double with 24 kills and 11 blocks, while Haley Hartman added nine kills and 12 digs.

Hunter Welborn finished with four kills and four blocks with Rachel Wagoner adding two blocks, two kills and two digs.

Erin Barr recorded 35 assists and seven digs, while Josie Matthews finished with five kills and 12 digs.

Starmount advanced into the third round with the win, where they will take on Central Carolina champion Central Davidson Thursday night in Boonville.

The Spartans outlasted local Surry Central in five sets to punch their ticket into the third round.

The match begins at 6 p.m. at Starmount.
