Mrs. Margaret Elois Boyd Engle, 83, of Greensboro, departed from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Friends Home Guilford.


Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at Christ Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Jonathan Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery on Hwy. 29.


Mrs. Engle was born Feb. 25, 1929, to the late Erma Collins and William Carly Boyd, in Harnett County. She was a faithful member of Christ Wesleyan Church, attended Bessemer High School, and retired from Proctor and Gamble. Elois was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed nothing more in life than spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Elois was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Elmer Lavern Engle; brothers, Edward Boyd, Edgerton Boyd, and Pete Boyd.


Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Vicki Taylor (Bill), Glenda Smith (Keith) all of Greensboro, and LeeSa Cornelius of Yadkinville; grandchildren, Shane Taylor (Christina), Kristin Staley (David), Dana Lawson (Mark), Stuart Smith, (Mary), Ashten Moxley (Davey), and Derek Cornelius (Karlie); great-grandchildren, Katlyn Kiger, Traeten Moxley, Clayton Staley, and Lorelei Staley; sisters, Essie Faye Chavis and Elaine Martin; and numerous dear friends.


The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening, Oct. 4, 2012, at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel.


The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the Birches Staff at Friends Home.
