It's not too late for players to sign up for Forbush High's basketball day camp for girls, which will take place Saturday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The camp is open to girls in grades 5-8. The cost is $25, which includes a T-shirt.

Clonch also will direct the First Annual Li'l Falcon Fall League for Girls. The league, also open to girls in grades 5-8, begins Sunday, Sept. 14 and ends Sunday, Oct. 19.

The cost is $40 (or just $30 if a player also attends the Sept. 6 day camp).


Tryouts for USSSA boys basketball A second day of tryouts for Yadkin Valley USSSA boys travel basketball teams will be held Sept. 14.

Divisions include 10U through 14U. The age cutoff is Sept. 1, 2009.

The Aug. 31 tryouts will be held at Wilkes Central High School in Moravian Falls -- at 1:30 p.m. for 13U and 14U and 3 p.m. for 10U, 11U and 12U.

The Sept. 14 tryouts will be held at East Wilkes Middle -- at 1:30 p.m. for 13U and 14U and 3 p.m. for 10U, 11U and 12U.

There are no tryout fees. Parents should bring a copy of player's certificate of live birth. Players should bring a light and a dark T-shirt.

The Lady Outlaw Shoot-Out Basketball Tournament will be held at Starmount High School on Sept. 20-21.
