The Falcons sent three teams to the District 7 competition on March 29 at Hunting Creek. Forbush Red came in first place out of 38 teams with an overall score of 3,105.
Members of the red team are Nick Doub, Billy Janos, Nathan McDonald, Morgan Parks, Travis Sloan and Isaac Spillman. Forbush Red placed first in shotgun, first in rifle and first in hunter skills.
Forbush Blue came in second with a team score of 3,069. Members of the Blue team are Jordan Collins, Elliott Davis, Jordan Holcomb, Hannah Joyce, Nathaniel Mosteller, Ethan Pendry, Caleb Reavis and Tyler Testerman. Forbush Blue was second in rifle, second in archery and second in hunter skills.
Forbush White came in fifth overall with a team score of 2,908. Members of the White team are Jared Carter, Josh Cockerham, Tyler Cranfill, Kurstie Gallaher, Ben Hobson, Megan Hutchens, Justin Moore and Brittany York.
Travis Sloan of Forbush Red came in first place in hunter skills and Billy Janos, also of Forbush Red, came in first place in shotgun and was first overall for the senior division for the tournament.
All three teams from Forbush High also went on to compete in the 30th annual state tournament at Camp Millstone on Saturday, April 26 in Ellerbe. This event drew 54 teams competing for the state title.
Forbush Red came in first place with an overall score of 3,028. The Red team was second in shotgun and rifle. Forbush Blue came in second with an overall score of 3,019. Forbush Blue was first in shotgun and rifle and second in muzzleloader.
Jordan Holcomb of Forbush Blue was second in rifle and Hannah Joyce was third in rifle. Billy Janos of Forbush Red came in third overall for the senior division.
The national competition will be held in Mansfield, PA in July. Forbush teams have won national titles in recent years.
