Early registration for the upcoming season of Upward Basketball in Yadkinville will continue through Nov. 23.
The league, hosted by Richmond Hill Baptist Church, is open to boys and girls in first through sixth grades. The cost for basketball is $55. After Nov. 23, add $10 to each registration fee. The deadline to sign up is Dec. 1.
Everyone who wants to play this winter must attend one basketball evaluation orientation, held at the Richmond Hill Baptist Church Family Life Center. These will be held Monday, Nov. 26 from 6-8 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 1 from 8 a.m. until noon.
Practices start Saturday, Jan. 5, and the first game will be Saturday, Jan. 12.
The awards celebration will be Thursday, March 6. Basketball shorts are included in the cost.

Starmount hosting hoops 'Ramboree'
The D-Rex Ramboree, a series of girls basketball scrimmages, will be held on Saturday at Starmount High School.
West Forsyth, Alexander Central, Hibriten and West Caldwell will join the Rams. A small admission fee will be charged for fans. Games start at 9 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.
Here is the schedule:
* 8:30 -- rules clinic
* 9-10 a.m. - Starmount vs. Alexander Central.
* 10-11 a.m. -- West Caldwell vs. Hibriten
* 11 a.m.-noon -- Starmount vs. West Caldwell
* Noon-1 p.m. -- Alexander Central vs. West Forsyth
* 1-2 p.m. -- Hibriten vs. West Forsyth
* 2-3 p.m. -- Alexander Central vs. West Caldwell
* 3-4 p.m. -- Starmount vs. Hibriten
* 4-5 p.m. -- West Caldwell vs. West Forsyth
* 5-6 p.m. -- Alexander Central vs. Hibriten
* 6-7 p.m. -- West Forsyth vs. Starmount
Forbush-Starmount alumni football
The second-annual Forbush-Starmount alumni football game will be held on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 4 p.m.
Both teams are still looking for players. For more information on joining Forbush's roster, contact coach Pat Mitchell or athletic director Anthony Davis at 961-4644. For more information on joining Starmount's roster, contact Chris Caudle at 468-4032.
Starmount will host this year's contest. The Rams won last year's battle in front of a packed stadium at Forbush. Players must have been out of school for at least 10 years to suit up for the alumni squad.
