Forbush will play, Starmount-North Surry moved to Monday

Forbush will play tonight, but Starmount's waiting till Monday.

That's the status of football action involving Yadkin County teams.

Forbush's home game against Surry Central will go on as planned despite all of the rains to hit the area the past few days. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.

Starmount's road date at North Surry, however, is one of many games being moved because of too-soggy conditions. The Rams and Greyhounds will play Monday night at 7:30 p.m. This will the second time this season that Starmount has had to move a game from a Friday night. A home game against East Burke was shifted to Saturday night in September because of poor Friday weather.

Here is the revised schedule, as of Friday afternoon, for other area schools:

-- Elkin and Mount Airy will wage their rivalry battle on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Grissom Stadium.

-- East Wilkes will play a JV-varsity doubleheader against visiting Alleghany on Monday at 5 p.m. The JV teams will play first.

As a result of the Elkin-Mount Airy game change, the Sertoma Bowl youth championship games, which had been scheduled for Saturday at Elkin High, have been pushed back a week. The Sertoma games will now be played next Saturday, Nov. 2. Time and place are still TBA.
