Foothills Arts Council opened its current Miniature Quilt Exhibit with an artists reception and awards ceremony Friday. Winners (from left) are Vicki Whalan, third place (tie); Nancy Goodwin, third place (tie); Barbara Monroe, first and second place; LeAnne Mantero, show curator and coordinator; and Jane Motsinger, third place, (tie). The exhibit includes small quilts from many local quilters as well as LeAnne Mantero’s collection of prize winning quilts. The show includes the Reeves Theater Quilt center block contest. Viewers of the exhibit will vote for their choice for the center block of a quilt to be made to raise funds for the restoration of the Reeves Theater. The show runs thru Feb. 20. Foothills Arts Council hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 129 Church St., Elkin.
