Kickoff for the contest has been changed to 3 p.m. instead of the usual 7:30 p.m.
The game change was done to accommodate Robbinsville team members and fans, Elkin athletic director Tony Duncan said. The school is located in Graham County in extreme Western North Carolina, about four hours away from Elkin.
"It's just to get them home earlier," Duncan said. "The two head coaches talked about it and came to a decision on it. It was their choice."
Elkin will carry an 11-2 record into the contest, while Robbinsville is 12-1. Neither team has surrendered a point in the post-season. The Elks haven't given up an offensive touchdown since losing to Mount Airy on Oct. 31.
Friday's winner will move on to the 1A West championship game next Friday, Dec. 5 against either Mount Airy (13-0) or Cherokee (11-2).
