Mrs. Molly Jolly Nixon, age 87, of Arnold Avenue passed away Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008 at Yadkin Nursing Care Center.
Mrs. Nixon was born January 22, 1921 in Wilkes County to Milton Beamer and Sarah Jane Cheek Jolly.
Mrs. Nixon was retired from AT&T and was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Winston-Salem.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmage Nixon; five brothers, Cleat Jolly, Mack Jolly, James Jolly, Jake Jolly and Dean Jolly; and two sisters, Susie Mastin and Peggy Speas.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Nixon and wife Kathy of Jonesville, and Richard Nixon and wife Lisa of Richmond, Va.; a daughter, Valerie Nixon of Yadkinville; a brother, Deice Jolly of Roaring River; and a sister, Mary Lou Joyner of Elkin. Mrs Nixon is also survived by five grandchildren, Kendra Wooten and husband Jon, Christopher Nixon and fiancee Ginger, Aaron Nixon, Katie Nixon and Emily Nixon; and three great-grandchildren, Jacey Wooten, Connor Wooten and Aiden Nixon.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 at 2 pm at Hodges Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Evan Bass. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the March of Dimes Greater Triad Division, 410 Brookstown Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
