, age 87, of 1108 Ambrose Creek Road, State Road, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008 at Hoots Memorial Hospital in Yadkinville. Mr. Felts was born in Wilkes County on March 8, 1921 to the late William Connie Felts and Flora Ellen Absher Felts. He severed in the United States Army during World War II. He was wounded twice and received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster and a Bronze Star, he retired from Swifts Auto Parts after 31 years of services.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Irene Dameron Felts, a sister and five brothers.

He is survived by four children; Glenda Felts Johnson of Hays, Judy Felts Sappington and husband Charles of Winston-Salem, Donnie Felts and wife Phyllis of Pinnacle; David Felts and wife Melinda of Harmony. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, a sister; Ruby Pennington of Troutman; two brothers; Ivory Felts and wife Virginia of Lenoir; and Roby Felts of Mulberry, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will held Friday, at 11 a.m., Oct. 10, 2008 at Knobb's Baptist Church by the Rev. Danny Bauguess. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Gardens with full military rites . The Felts family will receive friends Thursday evening form 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice 688 N. Bridge Street Elkin.
