As the economy changes, business owners as well as town officials search for ways to attract more local people as well as tourist to downtown Elkin.
With new business growth along C.C. Camp Road, downtown Elkin businesses evaluate how to encourage visitors to take a left onto North Bridge Street to visit historic Main Street.
"Local business provides a customer service that cannot be found in large department stores," Teresa Howell, Main Street Manager of Elkin, said. "The local businesses are the heart and soul of the community, supporting everything from the schools to benefits for those in need."
