Mrs. Holcomb was born in Davidson County on December 6, 1929 to the late Henry Garfield Atkins and Virginia Saltz Atkins. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jonesville.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Aaron Holcomb, of the home, two daughters: Vicki Holcomb Clark and husband Graham, of Wilmington, NC, and Navada Renee` Holcomb of the home. Sisters: Peggy Atkins Caldwell, Shirley Atkins Younts, both of Lexington, and Katherine Atkins Thompson of Winston-Salem. Brother: Henry James Atkins of Fort Pierce, Florida, and several loving nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service was held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Sunrise Cemetery in Jonesville, by Dr. Ray Hamilton.
The Family received friends at Johnson Funeral Home in Elkin from 1-2 prior to Graveside Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HCMH Building Fund in memory of Betty Holcomb.
The family of Betty, appreciate the compassionate care gave by Dr. Linda Shuck and the ICU Staff at HCMH. Also a heartfelt thank you to our many friends for loving our Mother. Johnson Funeral Home of Elkin is serving the Holcomb Family.
