As energy prices soar, Americans are coming to terms with changes that must be made to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

More fuel efficient travel is obvious, just as important is addressing the energy consumption of our homes and businesses.

As oil prices rise so follows the cost of electricity, natural gas, propane, heating oil, and so on. Regardless of which side of the political, moral, or environmental debate one finds themselves, efficiency with which one heats, cools, and powers their home or business becomes increasingly important.

Brian Brisendine, founder and CEO of Go Green Solutions says, "Going Green is not just a trendy fad or catch phrase, it is something that is defining a generation and will continue to do so for future generations."

Go Green Solutions is a North Carolina corporation's subsidiary founded in 2005 and headquartered in Yadkin County. "Our name says it all; we offer home and business owners affordable solutions for going green and reducing energy consumption, Brisindine said. "Our signature product is our NASA inspired attic radiant barrier which can immediately save up to 35 percent or more off of heating and cooling bills often paying for itself in three to five years and comes with a manufacturer's lifetime guarantee."

The company offers an alternative to roof replacement with our 50-year four-layer roof insulating system, which not only prevents additional oil based shingles from filling our landfills but also offers up to 30 percent in energy savings.

Additional expanding product lines include solar and wind power alternatives, water conservation, energy saving window treatments, insulating paints, and in development is an automotive fuel mileage enhancement, an after market add-on product.

"Our goal is to always provide our customers with the most cost effective environmentally friendly solutions for reducing energy consumption therefore saving you money today and tomorrow," Brisindine said.

Brisendine has been a resident of Boonville since 1995 and an area business owner since 1999.

David Doub, a lifelong resident of East Bend, is sales and marketing manager for Go Green Solutions. Doub is a graduate of Forbush High and a current undergraduate of East Carolina University.
