Mrs. Georgia Carin Vanhoy, 65, of Savannah Lane passed away Monday, June 2, 2008 at her home. She was born December 20, 1942 in Yadkin County to the late Willie P. and Bessie Ireland Vanhoy. Mrs. Vanhoy worked with Sara Lee Corporation for several years. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Cindy Welborn; by her grandson, Jonathan Welborn; and by 3 brothers, Hobert Vanhoy, Hubert Vanhoy, and Robert Vanhoy. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Marlowe (Kenneth) Joyner, Yadkinville; 2 granddaughters, Carley Joyner, Tiffany Martin; 2 sisters, Ruth Myers, Pfafftown; Bessie Vanhoy, Salisbury; and 3 brothers, Bill Vanhoy, Yadkinville; Johnny Vanhoy, Lewisville; Thomas Vanhoy, Harmony. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at Fall Creek Baptist Church. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the church by Rev. Don Hudson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fall Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Fall Creek Church Road, Jonesville, NC 28642.
