Downtown Elkin was filled Friday night with blasts of rock music in front of the historic Reeves Theater and exhibits at the Yadkin Valley Craft Guild, which featured the apprentice quilt program. Folks of all ages enjoyed the event. Many visited downtown shops, stopping by Royall's Soda Shoppe to watch Sam Gentry serve up burgers and hot dogs. Children, such as 10-year-old Andriana Mantero, played in the streets and took time to pet Buddy, a friendly Collie. Friday night was the kick-off event for this summer's Fourth Friday music and street party. April featured the rock band "That 70s Group" as musical entertainment.
